Heavy day. Then a stranger tells me they saved my book for a hard day, and when it came, they got up and went to the park.
Small moments like that make it all worth it. Thank you, whoever you are.

One of your people wants to interview somewhere else.
That's not a threat. That's growth, and how you respond says a lot about you as a leader.
Too many leaders take it personally. They get quiet, pull back, or start treating that person like they're already gone. I think that's backwards.
Our job isn't to hold people in place. It's to build them. When someone on your team is ready to interview, they're telling you the investment worked. So back them. Help them prep. Be a reference they're proud to list.
If they land it, you built that. If they stay, they stay stronger, and they stay because they want to, not because they had no other option.
I put together 5 interview tips you can pass along to your team. Save it, share it, or send it to someone who's getting ready for their next step.
Leaders, what's the best thing a boss ever did for you when you were ready to move up?
25 years ago I was 9, sitting in 4th grade. Our guest reader was a firefighter. When the news came over the PA, he got up and went straight back to his men. I've never forgotten it. #NeverForget#UnitedWeStand
"I'm fine" was the easiest lie I knew. Check on your people today, and ask twice.
