The Holy Spirit is our comforter in times of distress. He also warns us of sin and danger and helps us turn back to the Lord Jesus in repentance when we've strayed off course.

Jesus said that it was good for us that he ascended into heaven so that he might send us the Holy Spirit.

Sometimes the Spirit of the Lord comes in a mighty way both audibly and visually. However, the majority of the time, He's the small whisper we hear prompting us to action or to refrain.

Christ also said that we'd face difficulty in this world. The Holy Spirit together with other believers in Christ is our assurance and safety net. Jesus promised he would never leave nor forsake us and his promise is lived out daily in these ways.

Not only is the Holy Spirit our comforter, he also warns our spirit of incoming attacks. Because we're in a spiritual battle daily, that means we must engage the enemy spiritually. Spirit created the physical world so we know that the spiritual realm is greater. The created is never greater than the Creator.

Finally, prayer is our connection to wage war in the spiritual realm. Through Christ we are justified before God so that he hears our prayers. Even when we do not know how to pray, the Holy Spirit may intercede on our behalf.

God knows the enemy will attack us so he's given us the tools to resist the devil, and in turn the enemy will flee.
