WE DID IT! Broadway will dim ALL its marquees for Gavin Creel, well as for Adrian Bailey and Maggie Smith on other nights. Thank you to everyone who signed the petition and to the @BroadwayLeague for doing the right thing.
@heymrsbond I enjoyed teaching Natasha Trethewey’s “History Lesson” because students seemed to have epiphanies about all the layers and it was a good intro poem. I’m a big fan of her poetry in general.
@heymrsbond The Inkheart trilogy really captured my yearning for escapism in middle school years. I see lots of Their Eyes Were Watching God in the replies, which make my heart happy because it’s my favorite novel to teach.
@ItsRainingBen I saw Appropriate a couple weeks ago when Sarah Paulson was absent and I was sad to see the theatre half empty. The show was just as phenomenal with her understudy in the role.
Cuz Broadway is a business and Sondheim never had a show last on bway for over 3 years but the spectacle of Phantom let it last for 35. The writing doesn’t matter.
And I know we gotta lot of phans, but y’all can admit it doesn’t have a great book and there’s some snoozy songs
@BroadwayWorld Broadway desperately needs to invest in new thought-provoking content and playwrights. The playing it safe with film adaptations and jukebox/bio musicals is getting old.
@RepMTG How is it not illegal for a sitting member of congress to constantly peddle conspiracy theories? Totally irresponsible and a dereliction of duty.
@EricaGorenberg@jshelat1 The test student is linked to the student view function. If you were to submit an assignment while in student view it would show up under test student. A useful function if you want to test out multimodal submissions or something more complex like that before publishing.
