Mexico is the only host country from this World Cup to not lose a single game so far.
They have won their first four World Cup matches for the first time in their history.
respectfully.. many people commenting under and quoting this really need to look for context. it’s crazy that we still think south koreans are reacting this way just because of losing a game. even the president himself has spoken about this and requested a proper investigation

Hong and several players arrived at 4AM hoping to avoid protesters, but a large crowd was waiting. 🤯
Fans banged drums, chanted "Hong Myung-bo out!" & hurled curses/insults at the coach. 🫡🇰🇷
i’ve been living here for two years and initially also thought the response was a little harsh/intense just because “a game strategy didn’t work out as planned” but it was until this morning that i looked up more about it and found the real reason why south koreans are so upset
people are so quick to fall under ignorance and openly criticize a country without knowing the context. this is an issue that south koreans have been dealing with since 2014 and it just not involves losing a game in the world cup but involves corruption and mismanagement
The bullying we see in K dramas is so real. Koreans are even bullying their national team. Did they really expect them to win the World Cup? Why go as far as bullying the team?
Tunisia didn’t win a single World Cup game, yet there isn’t this much drama
@emamae4real it’s been verified, you can look it up. koreans have been really upset since hong myungbon was named the team’s director in 2024. he had previously directed south korea’s team in 2014 and ended up quitting too back then after south korea was eliminated
i would kindly suggest to do more research about this before posting. it’s an issue that goes back to the 2014 world cup and now ten years later the same thing happened again. koreans are not upset because they lost but because of the coach/director selection and non-transparency
South Korea shouldn’t be allowed to compete in another World Cup until their citizens learn how to behave. Why are death threats being sent to a coach just because the team got eliminated? That’s a normal thing in football, they need to get a grip.
