Heart disease is the leading cause of death.
But it’s insulin resistance that causes heart disease, strokes, cancers and other inflammatory conditions
Since your doctor won’t help you avoid it, here are 43 sentences that will:
NEW: Phoenix police officer pulls over a driverless Waymo car for driving on the wrong side of the road leading the nonexistent driver to roll the windows down to speak with the police.
This is hilarious.
Waymo has since released a statement, apparently blaming the incident on "inconsistent construction signage."
The car "was blocked from navigating back into the correct lane" for about 30 seconds when the officer pulled it over.
"In an effort to clear the intersection, the Waymo vehicle proceeded forward a short distance and pulled into the next available parking lot," the company said.
The Japanese secret to getting lean and living longer
There’s a tiny little town in Japan called Okinawa that has the most centenarians (100 year olds) in the world.
They also happen to average out at the lowest BMI as well.
They are the only population in the world who practice self-imposed calorie restriction.
They do this by practicing a technique they call, “Hara hachi bun”, which means to eat to 8 out of 10 or 80% fullness.
Why 80% Fullness?
Eating to 80% helps you lose weight sustainably without needing to count calories.
It does this by re-connecting you to your true nutritional needs as opposed to needing to stuff yourself at every meal.
It encourages better digestion and long term calorie restriction is a key to living longer.
Here’s how to do it:
#1 - Start with a smaller portion
#2 - Remove distractions
#3 - Eat slowly and mindfully
#4 - Check in with yourself
#5 - When you feel like you're at 80% fullness stop eating.
#6 - Do something that keeps you busy so you don’t reach for food.
#7 - Journal your experience and aim to do better next time.
Want to get lean? Try this today.
Btw this is not something you get right the first time. It's something you practice and get better at the more you do it.
So remove your need to be perfect and try it out the next meal you find yourself in front of.
This just might change your waistline and your life.
Resistance training is always thought of as the way to stronger muscles but we forget that bones, tendons, and ligaments (the places where we break down) get stronger by lifting heavy stuff too.
Studies have shown that listening to the sound of beavers enthusiastically munching on white cabbage can temporarily reduce stress levels by up to 17%.
