On July 21St 2026, at GS Rushubi @JuruSector , @BugeseraDistr, district officials, together with @WateraidRwanda #COFORWA representatives, officially launched the School WASH project financed by @IsharaTowersRw .

#COFORWA joins All Rwandans and the World in the 32nd Commemoration of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi.

They also inaugurated 35 plastic rainwater harvesting tanks, each with a capacity of 2 m³, for vulnerable, low-income, and women-headed households in Karama and Karangazi Sectors, benefiting 158 households and improving hygiene and sanitation. @RwandaEast @wasac_rwanda

The @WateraidRwanda /SPL project, in partnership with @NyagatareDistr, inaugurated three underground rainwater harvesting systems, each with a capacity of 90 m³ and equipped with water filtration systems.

A representative of @NyagatareDistr, Yves Mutarambirwa, commented that the inauguration of these water facilities marks an important milestone in contributing to the health and development of the beneficiaries, and emphasized the importance of proper maintenance.

The Legal Representative of COFORWA, Nsengiyumva Claudien, together with the Executive Director of COFORWA, Itangishaka Sylvere, expressed their gratitude to the visitors for the support they provided to this power plant.

On March 17, 2026, Mrs. Sachika, Project coordinator @japaninrwanda together with Mrs. Candide, visited the former #COFORWA hydroelectric power plant, which operated for 34 years supplying electricity to the former COFORWA headquarters, Gitega Health Center,

It helped many people improve their livelihoods and move out of poverty through various income-generating activities that required electricity, such as welding, carpentry, tailoring, hairdressing, and others.
