Thanks to mass immigration it may never be possible to integrate a vast swathe of Britain's Muslim community

By 2050 potentially millions will live in a parallel world, "citizens" of a separate nation within Britain, holding a world view and beliefs that are completely alien -- and in many cases abhorrent -- to the rest of us.

We need to be mature enough to acknowledge this.

Contrary to what many argue, being young, British born and educated does not guarantee integration and assimilation.

We've long known that those who live in segregated communities are more than twice as likely to be extremists. These communities grow day by day, fuelled by mass immigration.

And recent polls confirm, once again, that Muslim youth are MORE RADICAL than older Muslims.

That MOST UK Muslims, including educated Muslims, don't believe Hamas committed rape and murder in Israel reveals the impossibility of successfully integrating ever increasing numbers into this country.

We know from earlier polls that 81% of UK Muslims say they are Muslim first and British second. This is far higher than in France (46%) or Germany (66%).

Below are some other uncomfortable facts which underscore the almighty dilemma we have imported into these islands:

52% believe it should be illegal to show an image of Mohammed

32% want Shariah Law in the UK

28% dream of Britain becoming a Shariah state

And yet, petrified by political correctness, our political & media class choose to deflect -- preferring to focus on the "far right" molehill rather than the Islamist mountain.

Given the accelerated rate of Muslim immigration over the past 5 years, the following statistics from a few years ago are almost certainly worse now:

9% of UK Muslims (350K) are "hardcore Islamists"/ support terrorism.

52% of UK Muslims believe homosexuality should be illegal (Amongst the rest of the UK population it is only 5%)

62% believe in restricting freedom of speech to protect religions from criticism

15% sympathise with fundamentalists (compared with 6% in France and 7% in Germany)

19% respect Osama bin Laden 6% want to lead a completely separate Islamic life in the UK

44% believe schools should be able to insist on hijab or niqab

1/3 oppose teaching art & music in school

1/3 of UK Muslims 18-24 believe in bigamy/polygamy

1/3 of UK Muslims 18-24 believe Muslims who leave the faith (apostasy) should be put to death.

Of course it goes without saying that many Muslims are well integrated members of British society. No one denies that, and it is to be celebrated.

But to deny the reality of the existence of a vast number who aren't is to be at best naive or wilfully ignorant.

For all its tough talk, the Conservative government has reneged on its duty to tackle this critical issue.

Under a Labour government things will only get worse, particularly if it proceeds with plans to criminalise criticism of Islam using the APPG's ludicrous definition of Islamophobia.

We are sleep walking into a calamitous future and our leaders refuse to wake up.
