Currently teaching myself how to create production level software.
I truly learn the best when I get my hands dirty.
It's been a fun, challenging run. Still going. Probably will go forever.
next step: teach myself the optimal communication of my experience with others!
I really miss having the time and mental space to read, learn new things, get inspired, and write about them here.
Acquiring new knowledge and finding better ways to communicate it meaningfully has been deeply fulfilling for me.
No need to be poetic about productivity, dopamine detox etc.
Strangers around the world are paying LOTS OF MONEY to other strangers to maximize the time you spend on their product.
This has been shaping our culture significantly.
Do you trust them?
One of my biggest regrets is that I thought I was improving when I was just mindlessly noodling on the guitar.
I was following all these youtubers posting tutorials everyday about exercises I won't be doing because I was addicted to watching their videos instead of practicing.
I am genuinely intrigued by how easy it is to loose touch with your intended audience, while building your product.
Even if you think you are part of the target audience, you become less like them as you start building a product!
@aliszu People are missing the whole point.
AI can improve your services.
But you can't just make your services AI.
It has to be serving a greater purpose, and actually improving it.
@jaltma Especially these days, they are one of the rare digital activities that requires effort to indulge in.
Which is extremely more meaningful then being zoned out by algorithms on for you pages.
I remember watching productivity guru's videos on YouTube for hours.
I was a kid back then.
I did not know any better. I thought I was being productive... That was a very smart illusion created by the content creators I was following.
I have only seen 1 creator that has been honest.
I really appreciate him.
@ItsKieranDrew I recognized that if I indulge in social media, it gets more difficult for me to arrange my thoughts.
Because I am populating my mind with noise that has no meaning.
My brain is like wtf is going on dude?
Social media overcomplicates productivity.
There's no secret formula, but endless content makes you feel like you're missing some cheat code others have.
That's how they keep you watching - manufacturing FOMO about nonexistent shortcuts.
I want to build a community around non-toxic productivity, taking back control of our attention and melted reward circuitries.
This will allow people to see how other REAL people are using their time to stay motivated and high energy sustainably.
It is easier than you think.
Your attention is the most valuable and maluable part of your cognitive system.
You need to guide it, protect it and build your life around it.
Closely tied to motivation and energy overall.
Trying to educate and inform people through social media seems very ineffective.
Which is ironically what I have been doing.
But when I look at myself, most of the things I recall and learn through the internet is through people who PRACTICE and DO what they are teaching.
My for you page totally intrigues me.
Makes me feel both authentic and completely inauthentic at the same time.
I think I have original ideas, write them, only to see almost exactly the same ones pop up in my feed.
I like to believe there are quality ideas that some of us naturally converge on over time - and this is not something social media planted in my identity.
All the problems you have in life are being HEAVILY TARGETED by ads in social media to sell you products that seem like an easy solution but are in fact completely useless.
The worst outcome is you get the illusion of a solution and keep wasting your money and time on them.
Why is everyone obsessed with being obsessed?
It feels like the easy way out for most of the dynamics in life.
Everyone and their cousin on social media is telling me to be obsessed with something to be happy in life?
What?
@matt_gray_ There is no age for learning.
It should be lifelong for a fulfilling, growing, and meaningful life.
I agree that there are other important things in life as well, but I wish to never "leave the learning phase".
@GregoryMcKeown Don't fall into the "productivity" feedback illusion.
Life is not that simple. You have to think about taking smart steps.
The quantity of them does not entail anything.
