@JohnCornyn What your colleague, Rand Paul, said about diplomacy over economics resonates better than Trump's transacting over what Vance, himself, might call "rapacious". Don't sell-out, to loyalty.
@GetInTheGame18 MAGA wouldn't know "American" either, Gary. It's taking from your retirement, to redistribute, "re-shore", while regressively hoping tariffs pay other's decades of debt.
@WPipperger Congress pulling the waiver would effectively require a selective repeal of the Clean Air Act. At that, states rights might still survive this Republican attack. Who cares about the Constitution, eh?
@WPipperger A SCOTUS who'd allow pulling a "waiver" is probably no different than one that'd come up with Major Questions Doctrine against the Executive branch, only when it suits them (EPA but not tariffs?). ๐บ๐ธ broken. 1/2
Today, I voted in support of SJR 49, which would terminate the Presidentโs national emergency declaration regarding our trade deficits with countries around the world. Bilateral trade deficits do not constitute a national emergency, nor do they qualify as an โunusual and extraordinaryโ circumstance needed to unlock authorities under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act. We have a lot more work to do to reclaim Congress's constitutional power over tariffs, but this resolution is a step in the right direction.
@FaysalM57212145@alx Trump's regressive tax (tariff) policy is no different than the worst of Romney would come up with. The whole idea is rich-pay-no-more. Romney wouldn't have hung up Capitalism, tho, to go blam other countries. https://t.co/tUfRMKhggY
BREAKING: Senator Mitt Romney unleashes scathing ridicule on six-time bankrupt billionaire Trump, telling his audience Trump is not a huge success, nor does he know what he's talking about. "A business genius he is not." Brutal truth. ๐ฅ๐ฅ
