Some thoughts if you're struggling post-crash.
I've been rich, I've been poor, I've worked 80 hour weeks, I've worked 0 hour weeks, I've eaten at the #1 restaurant in the world, I've eaten ramen and chicken breast for a month straight. I've made 7 figures overnight, I've lost 8 figures overnight.
-A $10k Miata is as much fun as a $1M Ferrari
-A $1 ice cream cone on a hot day can be as enjoyable as a $1k three star dinner
-Freedom is not escape from work, it's finding gratifying work
-It's free to sit on a patio with your friends and laugh
-It's free (ish) to know the love of another
Happiness is relative, a man in a jail cell is joyous to just see sunshine for 5 minutes. Happiness is a mindset.
I've also seen/heard of too many stories from those who've lost it all after making large heaps of money in a short amount of time.
They're not failures - they're just understanding how to properly handle money they've never had before. Everyone will go through at this one point IMO, maybe once, twice, or more. As long as they're able to find that footing of being able to do it again and not just by "luck."
Being successful imo = seeing your own character go thru its ups and downs and able to act upon each experience. If your port and journey was up only, you should probably go buy a lottery ticket because I've never seen anyone do that before LMFAO
