That email language from the @IncomeTaxIndia honestly needs a rethink.

Lines like "we are treating this as an error for now, but if you don’t act, it will be treated as a deliberate choice" sound less like a gentle reminder and more like last warning before trouble.

For an ordinary taxpayer reading it, the immediate reaction is panic, not compliance.

Most of these mismatches are not fraud. The email tone assumes intent even before giving the taxpayer a fair chance to explain.

If the goal is voluntary compliance, the communication should be calm, informative, and supportive, something like "please verify and update if required." Instead, the current wording feels like: reply fast or face investigation.

A tax-friendly system works best when taxpayers feel guided, not threatened. Right now, these emails are creating anxiety rather than awareness and that defeats the very purpose of such reminders.
