i want to explain why this coin exists.

jesus said it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of god.

in another passage, peter is told to cast a line, take the first fish he catches, and open its mouth.

inside is the coin needed to pay the tax.

those two stories say a lot.

we live in a world built around extraction.

everything costs more.
everyone wants a piece.
everyone wants to get ahead.

and when people feel squeezed long enough, the pendulum swings hard the other way.

get rich.
get rich faster.
get rich before someone else does.

understandable.

but that was never the point.

make money.
take care of your family.
build things.
create security.

just don’t worship the accumulation of it.

don’t become gluttonous.

don’t forget where you came from.

give when you can.

live with some modesty.

remember where you hope to be going when this life is over.

that is the idea behind $FISH.

not that a coin makes anyone righteous.

not that wealth itself is evil.

not that there is some promise of riches here.

almost the opposite.

eventually the speculation fades.

some people leave.

the coin may be worth a lot.

it may be worth very little.

it may be worth nothing.

and maybe what remains are the people who understood the point.

the value was never supposed to be the thing you worshipped.
