We are thrilled to share that we are entering an exciting new era for tokenization on the Bitcoin blockchain. With the recent launch of Orbital Market, our platform is designed to evolve and address the growing mainstream market for NFTs and crypto collectibles. As the bull market begins to unfold, we see tremendous opportunities ahead for the entire blockchain ecosystem, and we’re incredibly bullish about the potential for Bitcoin-based collectibles.

That said, we must also navigate the realities of a long crypto winter that has required us to make difficult but necessary adjustments. To adapt, we will be temporarily reducing the size of our operations team, including the communication team. This means that, for the time being, you may notice slower response times and less frequent activity from us, particularly in terms of community engagement and support.

Although the disappointing decision has been made to remove Bitcoin Stamps from XCHAIN and FreeWallet, let's make sure we have the facts straight.

1⃣ Counterparty is not censoring Stamps
2️⃣ Stamps are being removed from the Explorer and Wallet level
3️⃣ Stamps can be bought/sold on @StampedNinja, stored in a @LeatherBTC Wallet, and use decentralized indexing with @Universelle_io's Rare Stamp infra.

XCHAIN and FreeWallet are the oldest running XCP explorer and wallet since 2017, and have been the primary way to store XCP assets like Rare Pepe and Spells of Genesis. They are both operated by 1 developer who has maintained protocol operations solely for the last half decade.

Many of us disagree with the decision, as at the root of the decision comes down to "filtering spam" which is similar to what is happening in the Bitcoin Ordinals space. But at the end of the day the operator is taking back control of what he has built. Has every right to that decision.

Maybe retail is taken back by the decision but the builders in the space have been aware of this for over a month now. @jdogresorg gave developers time to set up infra in preparation.

Outside of Stamps, Counterparty is actually becoming more decentralized after this decision as J-dog has/will be adding 3 individuals to the XCP repo for development: @wasthatawolf, @shannoncode, and @jp_janssen

The progress of Counterparty wouldn't be where it is today without J-Dog, that's a fact. He's now moving towards building a new project and is taking private ownership over the tools he's built.

Personally, I don't agree with the decision either but we shouldn't be attacking somebody who spent 10 years building Counterparty AND also added credible community members to the Repo that can push this in a unified direction.

Yes, this may be a temporary setback for some but there is additional tooling like Stamped Ninja, Rare Stamp, and Leather that allows Stamps to continue operations.

When a central leader leaves a market this creates a power vacuum for any eager builders to come in set up shop. This means if you are a Stamp builder there is likely millions in value that can be captured because of today's decisions. Put your money where your mouth is and go get it.
