Today, Ambassador Danijel Apostolović, Head of the Mission of Serbia to the EU, chaired another meeting of the Operational Team for Serbia’s accession to the European Union.
The meeting was attended by Speaker of the National Assembly Ana Brnabić, Minister of Justice Nenad Vujić, and representatives of the key institutions involved in the accession process. Discussions focused on further steps to accelerate negotiations, an overview of progress achieved so far, and the challenges that require timely and coordinated action.
Participants underlined the importance of setting goals that are both ambitious and realistic, guided by benchmarks across all clusters and aligned with the European Commission’s Country Report and the Reform Agenda. Particular attention was devoted to interim benchmarks in the rule of law chapters. It was reaffirmed that the goal of the reforms is not just to tick boxes, but to deliver real, lasting change.
The meeting reaffirmed strong political commitment, institutional expertise, and a shared determination to advance reforms in substance and quality. While significant work remains ahead, there is renewed focus and dedication to accelerating efforts on Serbia’s European path for the benefit of its citizens.
