It is tempting to go to the edge, but the actual rim edge may be as much as 20' below a& 20' back from the apparent rim edge. Regardless of where you see footprints, the cornice is dangerous, especially after new snow fall or during warmer periods like we are now experiencing.
⚠️St Helens Climbers ALERT (thread): People in this photo are standing on 1800' of snow-covered AIR. This spot, just west of Monitor Ridge, is most frequented by climbers. A giant cornice forms every year at summit & can release any time. Do not trust tracks already present!
