So so worth the wait. It’s been a tough year for the @RAFBBMF but today was a glimmer of light. The Lancaster took to the sky for the first time this year. Well done to all of the crew and engineers on the flight….she’s back!!!

#OnThisDay in 1942, a 42 Sqn Beaufort on an offensive sweep was forced to ditch near the Firth of Forth. The ditch and subsequent safe rescue was signalled when one of their pidgeons ‘Winkie’ flew to its roost. Learn more here: https://t.co/9z8orEi8EC

The UK manufactured Sting Ray torpedo is already in service with the @RoyalNavy and is being integrated onto the maritime patrol aircraft.

A Poseidon MRA1 from @RAFLossiemouth and an Atlas A400M from @RAFBrizeNorton have been working together to help rescue a sailor from the Atlantic Ocean after his yacht was critically damaged in storm Ciarán.
