The hangar of 2030 won't have technicians manually mapping dents with calipers. The data will be in the maintenance system before the inspector closes the panel. That infrastructure is being built now, by the people willing to do the unsexy work.
Dent inspection on a commercial aircraft still takes 15+ minutes per dent. A 737 returning from a hailstorm can have hundreds. That's days of measurement before maintenance can even decide if the plane flies.

Depth imaging changes the math. Structured light projects a known pattern onto the surface, captures the deformation in 3D, computes depth and width with sub-millimeter accuracy. No contact. No interpolation. Actual geometry, every time.
Every minute that aircraft sits on the ground is lost revenue. Southwest, Delta, United all run on the same workflow. Calipers, depth gauges, allowable damage charts. The measurement bottleneck delays return-to-service, sometimes for days.

I'm getting more traction on the raise with that approach.
