In the simplest explanation, the Republican Party, “The Grand Old Party,” was founded to end slavery. The Democrat Party was founded as the party of the Confederacy. At some point, Woodrow Wilson, a socialist, and terrible racist, along with FDR turned the party from Confederate to Communist. Black Americans never voted for democrats until Kennedy and LBJ.
