Today, I had the privilege of joining friends, family, and the community to honor State Representative Harry Bean during the dedication of Bean Family Road to the New Hampshire Fish and Game.

Harry dedicated so much of his life to serving New Hampshire, and it was fitting to see his legacy recognized in a way that will endure for generations. His commitment to our state, our outdoor heritage, and the people he served will not be forgotten.

May the Bean Family Road serve as a lasting reminder of a man whose service and dedication helped make New Hampshire a better place.

MANCHESTER, N.H. — Brian Cole released the following statement regarding the passing of former New Hampshire State Representative Fred Doucette:

“We were saddened to learn of the passing of Fred Doucette.

Fred dedicated his life to serving New Hampshire and our nation with commitment and a deep sense of public service. His contributions to our state and the people he served will be remembered for years to come.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Fred’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. We extend our heartfelt condolences to all who are mourning his passing.”

I think this is where a lot of people get confused. Looking only at the cost per kilowatt hour doesn’t tell the whole story of why New Hampshire families pay what they do for electricity.

Our electric bills are heavily influenced by New England’s dependence on natural gas. When natural gas prices spike, wholesale electricity prices spike, and we all end up paying more.

That’s why I’m such a strong supporter of advanced nuclear.

Yes, nuclear plants require a significant investment to build. But once they’re operating, they produce reliable electricity 24 hours a day for 60 to 80 years with very low fuel costs. That stability protects consumers from the price swings we’ve experienced with natural gas.

It’s also important to remember that comparing nuclear to solar based only on generation cost leaves out the cost of backup power, transmission upgrades, and large scale energy storage needed when the sun isn’t shining. Those costs don’t disappear. They get passed on to ratepayers.

New Hampshire already has one of the best performing nuclear plants in the country at Seabrook. Expanding advanced nuclear and Small Modular Reactors would give us more reliable power, reduce our dependence on volatile fuel markets, attract new manufacturing and technology jobs, and help stabilize electric bills over the long term.

To me, affordability isn’t about chasing the cheapest source of electricity on paper. It’s about building an energy system that delivers reliable power every hour of every day at a stable price for decades. That’s exactly why I believe nuclear should be part of New Hampshire’s future.

New Hampshire doesn’t need to follow the nuclear revolution. We should lead it!

I’ve been saying this since the day I launched my campaign. While other candidates said advanced nuclear wasn’t practical, I’ve been fighting to make New Hampshire the energy leader of the Northeast.

Now the Department of Energy and President Trump are proving that America’s future depends on nuclear energy.

This is our chance to lower energy costs, create high paying jobs, strengthen our grid, and make New Hampshire the state that powers the Northeast.

Let’s stop thinking small and talking about solutions. Let’s lead the nuclear revolution and put New Hampshire first.

When I say, “I’ve been everywhere, man,” I mean it.

Over the last few days, I have traveled from North Conway to Rochester, with stops in Meredith, Laconia, Alton, Wakefield, Seabrook, Hampton Falls, across the Seacoast, and in Raymond. Along the way, I even had the chance to stop at Lino’s Restaurant in Wakefield. If you have never been, it is well worth the visit.

But this campaign is about far more than the miles.

Over the last few days, I have been putting up signs, knocking on doors, shaking hands, and having real conversations with Granite Staters. I have been listening to your concerns, answering your questions, and earning support one person, one family, and one neighborhood at a time.

This is what a true grassroots campaign looks like. It is not staged. It is not built around carefully curated dinner parties or photo opportunities. It is built on hard work, long days, countless miles, and showing up where the people are.

I believe you have to earn every vote. That means being willing to drive the back roads, walk every neighborhood, knock every door, and listen far more than you talk.

Thank you to everyone who has welcomed me into your communities and shared your thoughts with me. This campaign belongs to the people of New Hampshire, and I will continue working every single day to earn your trust and your vote.

Adam asked whether people want an outsider.

I understand why that question matters to so many people right now.

But I believe the deeper question is this. Who will show up for you and deliver results from day one?

For four years, I have had the honor of serving as a State Representative. I have listened to the concerns, learned how to navigate the process, and worked every day with one focus, putting New Hampshire first.

Experience matters because it allows us to turn your concerns into real solutions.

When I go to Washington, I will be ready to get to work immediately. I will fight for lower energy costs, secure our northern border, strengthen our economy, and make sure New Hampshire’s voice is heard.

Washington does not need more talk. It needs people who understand what families are going through and who are committed to getting things done.

I have always put Granite Staters first, and I always will.

Thanks for the question. Yes, I have spent more than 20 years running a business in international trade, so I understand exactly how global supply chains work and why America has become too dependent on countries like China.

A large part of my career has also been spent sourcing products made right here in the United States. I have carried and sold many American made products. Which I personally prefer.

That experience is exactly why I believe I am well equipped to help fix this problem. I understand the challenges businesses face, the reasons manufacturing has moved overseas, and what it will take to bring those jobs back. We need lower energy costs, fewer unnecessary regulations, stronger supply chains, and policies that make America the best place in the world to build, invest, and hire.

I have also led efforts in New Hampshire to protect our state from foreign influence, including legislation strengthening protections against China. America should make more, build more, and rely less on our adversaries. That is what I will fight for in Congress.

I believe my job is to represent the people of New Hampshire, not to be a rubber stamp. My loyalty is to the people I represent.

On AI, I understand why so many people have concerns. It’s changing the way we live and work at an incredible pace. But the reality is that AI isn’t going away. Innovation will continue whether we like it or not, so I don’t think the answer is to pretend we can stop it. Instead, we need to make sure New Hampshire is in a position to benefit from it while protecting our communities.

That doesn’t mean saying yes to every AI data center. Any proposal should have to prove it benefits New Hampshire, won’t drive up electricity costs for families, won’t strain our power grid, and respects our communities and environment. We should embrace innovation responsibly, making sure the people of New Hampshire come first.

At the end of the day, every decision I make comes back to one question: Is this in the best interest of Granite Staters? If the answer is yes, I’ll support it. If it isn’t, I’ll fight against it, regardless.
