@cawhbuecking I find it interesting that radioactivity can cause cancer, but can also help fight it. It’s cool to think about how scientists discovered that radioactivity could be flipped and used to help cancer patients.
I didn’t realize there were 3 different forms of decay. I found it interesting how most people really only know of gamma decay, because it is the kind that appears in movies and such. #msmithchem
I don’t really know a lot about radioactivity except you’re supposed to stay away from it, and that toxic waste bins are radioactive i think? But from the context of class I think ratioactivity comes from unbalance in atoms and has to do with nuclear decay. #msmithchem
I always thought that the abbreviations for the elements were just random, especially the ones that didn’t sound like the elements, but learning that they actually stand for something is cool.
