Ever catch yourself rewatching that 9/11 classroom clip? Bush sitting there, expression blank, while the kids read “My Pet Goat” out loud and the Secret Service guy whispers in his ear. Absolute chills.
But here’s the part that still fries my brain. Bush later insisted he saw the first plane hit the North Tower live on a TV monitor outside the classroom before he walked in. He even told a kid months later, “I saw the first plane hit… thought, man, what a horrible pilot.” Problem is… nobody saw that footage live. The only video of the first impact (the Naudet brothers’) didn’t air until the next day. So what the hell was he watching?
That same morning, NORAD was running a massive exercise called Vigilant Guardian, literally simulating hijacked jets being crashed into buildings in the northeast. Multiple war games were live that day, tying up fighters, scrambling comms, the works. Did Bush accidentally watch the “simulation feed” thinking it was real? Or was the line between drill and reality blurred on purpose? Either way, the slip never got explained. Still gives me goosebumps almost 25 years later.
What do you think actually happened in that hallway? Coincidence, brain fart, or something way darker? Drop your take.
