@BenjiNaesen@stephenmlpayne@Na1chaca Does this not coincide with Tadej winning the tour for the first time and the 3rd time while on a revenge mission? If so, do you feel there's arguably something fishy going on or is it just a matter of innocent until proven otherwise? You must have a gut feeling of some sort..
@Domestique___ When he inevitably gets cooked on the first mountain top finish, the excuse will be that he lacked competitive racing miles before the Tour. Just a matter of time.
@lucasaganronald I think it's more about the history and reputation of cycling. Having awarded Armstrong in the past, the org just won't trust any other cyclist with that award. They will only nominate to show they aren't biased, but will ultimately award tennis, soccer, golf, & motorsport stars.
@lucasaganronald It's pretty simple. One is that the history of cycling is stacked against any modern great. Special performers are always gonna attract skeptics. Two is the country of origin. If he was British or French or American, he'd definitely have greater recognition or acclaim.
@KenyaKahigi@nixonkelly553@georgediano Definitely hard to understand the full speech without the context. But for this clip, he says "People who claim that must try a bit more. Even though I live with Bukusus, don't I still speak Tiriki? So young guys who've recently come to Nairobi pretend not to be able to speak..."
@lucasaganronald The dark history/reputation of cycling directly works against him. The selectors are more likely to trust the results of a Motorsport rider/driver, golfer, or tennis player than that of a cyclist, even one as generational as him. It's just how it is.
@laflammerouge16 I think the Euro race was a backup if he didn't win the world title. But now that he's back in rainbow, most likely he will gear up for Lombardia next.
