Silicon Valley wants you to think this and that’s why you are going to focus on building your product for years before hitting the market. And then once you finally do, you realize all the time was wasted and no one wants it.
Paid forms of marketing are key in all companies that aren’t inherently social and therefore do not have k-factor flywheels.
Very surprised to hear this from one of the foremost investors in Uber, because Uber relied on paid marketing via incentives!
