@hazardc was going to ask some local venues about playing your winterland 74 vids projected at local venues, would I need to get permission from GD team do you know?
✋🏼 I’m team Webflow. It’s the best website development tool out there in my opinion.
But it does bug me when I keep seeing the same misinformation regarding WordPress.
I’d like to put a few things straight, so here are some common misconceptions I hear from Webflow folk all the time.
1) “WordPress is slow”
This is totally false. WordPress sites CAN be slow in the hands of the wrong person just like Webflow can be.
Wordpress is not inherently slow.
2) “Wordpress page builders are terrible compared to Webflow”
Webflow is still the best overall in my opinion…but take a look at bricks builder. It’s brilliant.
You can use classes, flex, css grid, sections, divs, just like Webflow does.
The experience is very similar to Webflow. Don’t believe me? Try it!
3) “No CMS collections”
Bricks builder integrates with a plugin called advanced custom fields to create what we call CMS collections that lets you draw that data to the front end of the website, just like Webflow does.
ACF is owned by wp engine (a large hosting company) and has 2 million + installs. It’s legit.
Also with no CMS item limits….
4) “Plugins are bad and you rely on them for everything”
Some plugins might be badly optimised, but as along as you’re using trusted sources, you shouldn’t run into any issues.
It’s true though, if you aren’t custom coding your Wordpress sites you’ll be needing plugins.
However, have you ever ran into an issue with Webflow where it can’t do something natively? Ever used jetboost, finsweet attributes, memberstack, weglot etc?
My point is Webflow users are still heavily reliant on third party developers. I’d be lost without the finsweet extension!
To get the same native features Webflow has, you’d need:
Bricks builder (this is a theme not a plugin)
ACF (for CMS collections)
Motion page (gasp animations)/bricksforge
And that’s…about it in terms of the builder side.
Obviously you’d need hosting, cache plugin etc but once you’ve created a setup with all your plugins and settings, it’s easy to duplicate this and fire up a new site.
Memberships and logic aren’t fully out yet so I’m not counting those yet.
5) “WordPress is ugly”
The admin panel is gross and always has been.
But…it’s only css. You can create your own admin css file and change it however you like. Do this once and use it for every site.
One huge benefit is how WordPress is open to to do anything you like!
Rant almost over.
Having said all that…..I still prefer Webflow for ease and speed and how everything is set up for you.
For me, this is the main benefit.
My entire business is predominately Webflow based and I love it. I only use Wordpress every now and then but I still like it.
I would encourage everyone to explore all possibilities/tools and not regurgitate what others say, without checking the facts for yourself.
Rant over 🙃
@benshapiro This is intellectually dishonest. 1) the firearms were purchased legally and 2) just because laws are broken doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be in place. Some laws enact policies, such as laws that require licensing for professionals or drivers.
The banking industry makes $12 billion a year in overdraft fees.
So when a big bank runs out of money, it's simply bailed out with your taxpayer money. But when you run out of money, the bank charges you $30.
Please consider the implications of this type of political ostracization and recognize that, despite the need to hold key officials accountable in the wake of Trump's exit, your overly broad campaign undermines important democratic principles that have kept our country strong.
@AOC@trumpaccproject As a fellow Biden voter and fierce anti-Trump advocate, I wholeheartedly disagree with a major pillar of the Trump Accountability Project Effort. I have a huge concern about one of the pillars of the Trump Accountability Project as stated on the website.
...and destructive to the principles of peaceful transition that we are so strongly advocating for the president to follow. It risks alienating individuals at all levels of government who were essential in keeping gov't moving forward during Trump's anti-democratic administration
