I had a caller to Extra Innings, Jake from Dayon, say something that I haven't stopped thinking about. The 29-year old expressed his frustration with the #Reds, and concern that they are losing a generation of fans.
Born in 1997, he pointed out that in his lifetime he's seen just nine winning seasons, five playoff teams, four home playoff games, and no home playoff wins.
"It's an absolute disgrace I've not one single time seen the Reds advance in the postseason."
"I grew up going to games with my dad, doing the scorebook, hearing stories of the Big Red Machine. I am dying for just one of those moments, here...once......just once"
He noted how his age group is 'starving' for a winner. He fears they are losing a generation of fans, and the organization doesn't seem to care.
Thoughts?
I told him I'd make his call a show topic.
We will discuss tonight in the 7pm hour.
Call of Duty is dead.
Arc Raiders is dead.
Fortnite is dead.
Battlefield is dead.
GTA is still not out.
What is anyone even playing anymore these days?
Hey @jimmykimmel, what is funny about this?
Joking is one thing, but wishing death on the President by telling Melania “Mrs. Trump, you have a glow like an expectant widow”?
That’s not comedy, that’s dangerous rhetoric.
We’re better than this.
Here we go again. Another over the top celebration at 12u. If you think this is good for baseball, you are the problem.
Bat almost hits him in the face after the spike, then all the "look at me" antics, and you gotta love the cameraman on the field running with the kid.
What a joke. It's all a show...🤦🏼♂
Michigan won because, for the fourth straight game, they held their opponents to a season-low shooting percentage:
Sweet Sixteen vs. Alabama – 36%
Elite Eight vs. Tennessee – 32%
Final Four vs. Arizona – 37%
Championship vs. UConn – 31%
An all-time great defense. 🙌
Michigan held its last four opponents in the NCAA Tourney -- Alabama, Tennessee, Arizona and UConn -- to their lowest field goals percentages of the season. All of them.
I know defense isn't always as sexy as big offensive numbers. But we just witnessed a generational defense.
"It was a gross basketball game but credit to Michigan. Michigan finished with 36 blocks in this game, I don't care what the Box Score says."
- @clubtrillion was thoroughly impressed by how Michigan handled an ugly game
