ANDREW NEIL: Labour has a cheek asking the people to be more resilient in the face of danger when it’s done nothing to improve national resilience (and neither did the Tories)

💕 From all of us at All Creatures Great and Small, thank you for your incredible support throughout Series 7.
Your kind words mean the world to us, and we’re so grateful to every viewer, cast member, and crew who helped bring the wonderful world of Darrowby to life 🥰
JD Vance just said that ''America isn't obligated to stand by Ukraine because they aren't in a formal alliance.''
Dear JD. Vance,
Look up ''Budapest Memorandum 1994.''
You are welcome.
President Putin is a murderer.
His soldiers use rape as a weapon.
He has launched wars costing thousands of lives.
His agents have stolen children and destroyed families.
Russia today is what President Reagan correctly called it: the evil empire.
Today's show has completely exposed James O'Brien for what he is
OB has ridiculed Kemi Badenoch for pushing for N.Sea drilling at #PMQs, & now because Andy Burnham has approved it, OB is suddenly onside with it
How do his regular listeners not see the hypocrisy?😱

"The violence was a tiny, tiny, tiny portion of the people protesting."

For goodness sake, the French Government have issued curfews up & down the country to try and handle the situation 🇫🇷
James O'Brien is a shame on his profession

Every single sentence in your post is untrue.
Labour’s 2002 ‘deal’ had very little long-term impact on migrants trying to sneak into the UK by lorry/container/vehicles. It simply moved from Sangette to other routes.
Between 2014-2019 55,000 came in that way — an underestimate since many came in undetected and disappeared into society. Unlike boat people, nearly all of whom are counted.
So it’s an obvious nonsense to say people weren’t being sent back because nobody was arriving. Tens of thousands were arriving.
They switched to small boats when major advances in technology, perimeter defence of lorry/container parks and detection made lorries etc too risky to take.
That’s why, from 2018 onwards, the small boat numbers grew fast.
Nothing to do with EU, Brexit, Dublin rules, fairy dust etc. Why do you peddle such falsehoods?
Cooper claims 17m more GP appointments = more referrals to hospital = rise in waiting lists.
But the increase in GP appointments is closer to 7m.
Does she ever get anything right?
Would you know I had pneumonia, a heart condition, Stage IV head and neck cancer and I'm 4 weeks out of major abdominal surgery? Appearances don't tell you the whole story. You can see how someone looks, but you can't always see what it takes for them to keep going.
So, @theipaper promotes itself with the tagline 'Impartial News', whilst simultaneously paying James O'Brien to write his ridiculous articles attacking Kemi Badenoch? 🤔
@theipaper - Did you not do your homework on James O'Brien before offering him the gig??

"The prime minister's intervention is one of the most extraordinary things I've ever heard"
On #PoliticsLive, Times columnist Matthew Syed reacts to Andy Burnham's comments relating to the ownership of Man City
https://t.co/QitbAYCSSY
🚨 Breaking 🚨 Team Burnham are scrambling this evening following the Labour PM’s surprise defence of Manchester City & its owners. Serious questions are being asked about Burnham’s relationship to the City owners, how much he knew, why he’s intervening & any financial links.
Joking aside, Andy Burnham should not in any way be defending Manchester City, or the club's owners, before a punishment has been issued. To do so makes it look like he is placing pressure on the football authorities. He needs to just stay out of it.
🚨🎙️ Gary Neville on UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham’s comments about Manchester City:
“I find those comments absolutely staggering. At a time when Manchester City have just been found guilty of serious financial rule breaches, the Prime Minister is talking about how concerned he would be if their owners left. What message does that send?
Are we now at the stage where money, investment and tax revenue matter more than the integrity of football? Because if that is the message coming from the top, then we have a serious problem.
You cannot have one set of rules for the smaller clubs and another set of rules for the biggest and wealthiest clubs. If the rules have been broken, they must be dealt with properly. It doesn't matter how much money the owners have brought into Manchester.
And let me be very clear — nobody should be influencing the independent process. The courts, regulators and football authorities must be allowed to do their jobs without political pressure.
If Manchester City escape meaningful punishment simply because they are economically important, then forget sporting integrity. Every club in England will ask themselves why they should respect the rules.
The Premier League cannot become a competition where the bigger your bank account, the safer you are from consequences. That would destroy the credibility of English football.
I think the Prime Minister needs to clarify those comments, because right now they sound like he is more worried about losing Manchester City’s owners than protecting the integrity of the Premier League.”
The Church of England and its pathetic Archbishop now so useless it can’t even manage to do due diligence BEFORE it hands out its award to a bin Laden supporter.
Which it did on the very anniversary of 9/11 as part of its efforts to turn its back on liberal western values and cosy up to medieval reactionaries.
I expect Hamas will be invited to Lambeth Palace for tea and cucumber sandwiches on Oct 7.
