On Trans Day of Visibility (TDOV), the Collective of Child Welfare Survivors (CCWS) reaffirms our commitment to advocating for and uplifting the voices of trans individuals, particularly those impacted by the child welfare system.
✨Our very own, Thaila Dixon, had the honor of joining the Beats and Bites celebration hosted by @fyiinto to close out Black History Month! It was an incredible evening of community, culture, and connection — celebrating Black excellence, empowerment, and the voices of youth💛
Never too late for an international women's day post!
On International Women’s Day, we recognize and uplift the femmes and women at CCWS who do this work daily—not for recognition, but because survival and collective care demand it.

As we move into a new year, we reflect on the lessons that have shaped us, the strengths we’ve gained, and the dreams we want to nurture. Together, we're building a foundation of resilience, planting seeds of hope, and imagining new possibilities.

This activity reminds us that growth is both grounded and expansive—rooted in what we've learned, carried through what we continue to hold, and blossoming in what we strive to become.
Alicia’s legacy is one of unwavering commitment, courage, and care. She will forever motivate us to demand more accountability from the systems meant to protect, and to center the voices of survivors in the fight for justice.
We dedicate our first post of 2025 to honor Alicia Brooks, a compassionate advocate for children and youth impacted by the family policing system. Alicia’s life was tragically cut short in December 2024, a loss that reflects challenges faced by many women and femme folks.
Her words, “Don’t count us out, there’s lots of youth in care who are changing society for the better,” remain a powerful reminder of the strength and potential within survivors of the family policing system.
