I was lucky enough to be in the hall for this, and the whole room — full of journalists who knew and trusted and relied on Father Lombardi during his time as director of the Vatican press office — broke out in spontaneous and sustained applause.
@MatthewSitman@ProfDanRober To add to all this, the orders have a lot of experience in communal discernment and decision-making that there seems to be a real hunger for among the college of cardinals.
