🇨🇳🤝🇮🇹 On November 9, the Conference for Dialogue between Chinese and Italian University Rectors convened at #PekingUniversity, fostering educational and cultural collaboration. The event brought together representatives of China's Ministry of Education, Italy's Ministry of University and Research, the Italian Embassy in China, and delegates from nearly 50 universities across both countries.

At the event, key agreements were signed between 11 Chinese and Italian institutions on research, student exchange, and innovation. Moreover, a student exchange initiative was launched, bolstering the drive to double the number of European youths on exchange programs in China during the coming three years.🎓🌱

Union Minister for Education, Shri @dpradhanbjp, inaugurated a two-day National Workshop on Higher and Technical Education with the Secretaries of States/UTs today in New Delhi. He stated that the workshop would serve as a platform for rigorous academic discussions, particularly focusing on how education can drive significant improvements in enhancing ease of living, increasing per capita income, and achieving the national priorities set by Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi.

Shri Pradhan also emphasized the need for the country to transform into a producing economy by leveraging the opportunities presented by Industry 4.0. He called for a leap forward in developing education infrastructure that not only meets but surpasses global standards. Education infrastructure, he noted, is a multidimensional concept, encompassing much more than just the development of brick-and-mortar structures.

The Minister outlined five key areas for academic leaders and administrators to focus on:

➡️Strengthening public universities through innovative funding models.
➡️Establishing think tanks to align and tailor curricula with industry demands, as well as the needs and aspirations of states/UTs.
➡️Adopting a multidisciplinary approach to research and innovation in order to take leadership in addressing global challenges.
➡️Promoting Academic Leadership Development Programmes in each state/UT through collaborations with prominent central and state institutions.
➡️Revitalizing campus life by promoting sports, debate, poetry, drama, and the performing arts—areas already credited through the NEP 2020 and prioritizing these non-scholastic pursuits.

Shri Pradhan further emphasized the importance of teaching in Indian languages, underscoring the nation's accountability to its students. He called for collective efforts to establish India’s global leadership in education.
