Hi, I’m Allie — I help student-athletes and families navigate the college recruiting process FOR FREE.
If you’re new here, here’s what I post + how I help👇
Here is PART 2 of my Social Media for College Recruiting series: which social media platforms should you use in the college recruiting process?
#collegerecruiting#recruitingtips#studentathlete
Hey recruits. I have a favor. If you reach out regarding our program. First off, thank you. We appreciate the interest. With that being said please do your research. I had MULTIPLE athletes send me schedules and I took the time to go watch them. Waited till the game was over to speak with them. They knew nothing about our university or program. I have no problem setting up a phone call or answering any questions via email or text you may have leading up to a tournament.
When you initially reach out. We are researching you, you should do the same.
My point is. Make sure you are truly interested in the academic and athletic side of things before you hit the “send” button.
Hope this helps so there is no awkwardness when you finally meet the coach.
The recruiting process exposes student athletes who have strong work ethics, and those who do not.
If you want to stand out in the college recruiting process, you need to start prioritizing your work ethic — in all areas.

RECRUITS:
Don’t be the guy who ghosts coaches. You don’t owe anyone a long explanation or justification…just communicate. A simple “I’ve decided to go another direction” shows respect and lets coaches move on. Character is revealed in how you handle the little things.
Coach: “We’d love to offer you”
Recruit: “Thanks coach, that means a lot!”
Then the recruit hangs up and tells the whole family he got an offer.
Weeks later he tries to commit.
And the coach says the spot is gone.
Or that it was never a committable offer in the first place.
Now he is confused, hurt, and behind.
Here is what nobody told him.
You need to ask these 3 questions when you get an offer:
First: “Is this a committable offer?”
If the answer is no, you have interest, not an offer.
Good to know now instead of after you turn down other schools.
Second: “How long is the offer on the table?”
Offers have expiration dates.
Most recruits never find out until the spot is filled.
Third: “What are the next steps from here?”
This tells you if the coach is actually moving you forward or just keeping you warm.
Three questions.
And you go from guessing to knowing.
Do not let one excited moment cost you the truth about where you stand.
You’re wanting to play your sport at the next level? Then you should be taking the initiative in the college recruiting process.
