The worst part is that this is the unfortunate reality of a 24-team College Football Playoff. 😭😕
Programs like Georgia, Ohio State, Alabama and others would theoretically have a massive margin for error and could be nearly guaranteed a playoff spot barring a crazy drop-off.
College football is going to look a whole lot different with 24 teams getting in.

The line on LSU vs. Mississippi State has moved to LSU -14.5. It opened around 10.5.
•The number went to 12.5 by Sunday night. It is now LSU -14.5 amid uncertainty over Mississippi State quarterback Kamario Taylor’s injury status.
•Even before the Taylor news, LSU was a double-digit favorite. Bill Connelly’s SP+ projects LSU to win by 12. ESPN’s FPI has LSU at 20.9 and Mississippi State at 12.2.
•LSU just lost as a more-than-a-touchdown favorite at Kentucky. The new number says Las Vegas still expects a two-touchdown win over a ranked team.
•The article calls it a chance for LSU to make a statement in Week 7.
Saturday, 11 a.m. CT, Death Valley.

Eli Drinkwitz asked to comment on the SEC adopting uniform NIL contracts:
“We are in the middle of coaching season.
“I’m going to have to get brushed up on it, because tampering season is about a week away.”
😂
New: In the NIL era, LSU GM Billy Glasscock + Lane Kiffin have a plan in place. And they stick to it...
Case in point: LSU wasn't the top NIL offer for Louisiana's No. 1 recruit Easton Royal.
Why? Glasscock pulled back the curtain on LSU's approach: ➡️ https://t.co/jFKWMHkXqq
Mississippi State is No. 16. LSU is No. 22 and a 12.5-point favorite at home. Here is what Tiger players are saying about the game.
•TJ Dottery on the Bulldogs: “Athletes all around the board… a great quarterback and leader.” He said LSU has to keep the tops on coverages, wrap up the big backs and get hands in Kamario Taylor’s face.
•Dottery on Taylor’s status: Prepare as if he is 100%. “I know that guy personally. He will do whatever he can to get out there Saturday.”
•Roman Mothershed on the 11 a.m. kickoff: They practice in the morning anyway. “We just amp it up… We are going to have to wake up and get to it fast.”
•Mothershed on Death Valley: “I had never felt nothing like that in my life” against Clemson. “Being in Death Valley, that atmosphere is completely different.”
•Sam Leavitt on the early start: “We practice early morning every single day. We will put the chinstraps up and go play the game.”
•Leavitt on State’s defense: “Incredible front seven… Zach Arnett is a really good coach… They’re physical and they just have passion for the game.”
Saturday, 11 a.m. CT, ESPN. First meeting since 2023. Death Valley.

Arch Intel: The Texas Staff is continuing to work with Arch Manning to get his great performances in practices to carry over to the games
One thing Sarkisian and his staff are trying to do is help Manning process information faster and get rid of the football quicker.
“Arch is like a boxer who has a great hook, great overhand right, and a strong uppercut. But he struggles to throw the jab, which is those short passes … The thing about Quinn [Ewers], he was able to throw the jab and get rid of the football. That’s what they’re working on with Arch.” - A Source said to @AnwarRichardson@AnwarRichardson has more key Tuesday intel on Arch Manning, Coach Sark, and Texas here: https://t.co/4A22TCYuPu
Is Arch Manning a future NFL star—or still a long way from being ready? And how much does the last name shape the hype?
