On Thursday we said goodbye to the spring series of the Baroque Soirées in the Strahov Monastery. The concert entitled Omfalé & Hébé performed by the Collegium Marianum ensemble under the direction of Jana Semerádová presented to the audience dance suites à la française.

Yesterday's Baroque Soirées concert commemorated one of the most influential musicians of the Baroque era, Arcangelo Corelli and his follower Georg Philipp Telemann. Works by both greats was performed by the Collegium Marianum conducted by Jana Semerádová and Lenka Torgersen.

Last night in the Ledeburg Garden, the musicians of the Collegium Marianum ensemble together with oboist Xenia Löffler presented chamber music treasures from the Dresden Court Library. We could not imagine a better ending to the longest day of the year.

It is not common for Prague audiences to be carried away into the English musical landscape of the late 16th to early 18th century. Last night's concert by the leading British tenor Charles Daniels and the Collegium Marianum ensemble made this unique experience possible.
