The buffalo shooter wrote he chose it specifically to make people want to ban it. You are looking at a tool of the symptom.

@skiichic21 @GovMikeDeWine They already have background checks for every purchase other than private sales. Selling to a prohibited person is illegal. And you have to fill out a 4473 form prior to the check. Lying on any question is a felony. most of what you suggested is already mandatory

You still have to get a background check for every gun purchase and fill out a 4473 form prior to it. Lying on any question is a felony.

@WiseBridgeLLC @wkyc Terrible? Absolutely. But nothing will ever be perfect. The vast majority of firearm use is for defense (as per CDC stats) anywhere from 500,000 to 3 mil per year. Many of which never fire a shot. Gun control laws by definition only affect people that follow the law.

Many still do because if you travel, many states recognize other states license except for places like NY and CA. However we are now the 27th or 28th state to get it. This really doesn't change much

A gun owner goes through a background check and fills out a 4473 form when they purchase a gun and then goes through another background check to get a license to carry
