October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month—a time to honor the strength of fighters, the triumph of survivors, and the memory of those we’ve lost. Real leadership is standing with them, raising awareness, and advocating for a cure. 💖 #BreastCancerAwareness#Leadership#Hope

I love the bond that has formed between this baby and her big brother.
I’ve often written about the need for secure attachment between parent and child.
But parents aren’t the only ones with whom babies form close connections. Within a matter of weeks after birth, babies come to recognize those with whom they are in close daily contact - allowing for well developed bonds with siblings, grandparents and teachers, for example.
None of these bonds are likely to be as strong as that with the parents, but this hierarchy of connectedness allows space for others near the top to contribute meaningfully to baby’s optimal growth and development.
Watch here as older brother demonstrates a (more?) successful feeding strategy. It not only brings some fun and levity into this joint feeding time, but provides a snapshot of their broader family dynamic.
I particular love the way big brother cheers and affirms dad’s success. Such a lovely reflection of what is almost certainly dad’s own daily encouragement of them both.
This fantastic video is from one of my very favorite IG accounts, dad_vlog, whose new book, The Couples Pregnancy Guide (co-written with his wife) is one I’m particularly eager to read.
