@irishresearch funded PhD student in analytical electrochemistry focusing on improving techniques for analysis of evidence generated from high thermal events
Happy to announce the second publication from my PhD work @MaynoothChem where we explore the development of an electrochemical sensor for the organic fraction of gun shot reside have a read below:

My time as chairperson of the @ICIYCN is coming to an end, in the past two years I have been lucky to get to know these sensational chemists from across the island. We started as a replacement for a conference during covid and became so much more.
So as the YCN enters it's 3rd official year in existence, I have utmost faith in the committee that will be taking over, to make it bigger and better than before. And I ask everyone on the island interested in chemistry to get involved yourselves and be a part of the change.
The colloquium is always a special event, and I am glad that it was one of the last events I'll attend in my PhD in @MaynoothChem Congrats to all the presenters, organisers @uniofgalway and everyone involved for making it such a special 2 days.

Given that the majority of our network is comprised of postgraduate chemists across Ireland, it would be remiss of us to not bring people's attention to the attached consultation.

In an effort to make sure all postgrad chemists are heard across the island the @ICIYCN are putting out a call for further representatives at campuses that we don't have on our current committee. So please if your institute is linked below get in contact :)
Save the Date! The 74th Irish Universities Chemistry Research Colloquium, under the aegis of the Institute of Chemistry of Ireland, will be held at the University of Galway on the 8-9th of June 2023.
Looking for a funded PhD studentship? Come join @MaynoothChem and embark on super exciting research in materials/electrochemistry in new catalytic materials for green hydrogen generation. 🧪 application info ⏬
Join us on the 24th of November at 5:30pm as we host the first ICI YCN: Inter-Chemical Department Quiz. Its time to settle, once and for all, which university hosts the smartest chemists on the island! Register via QR code or get in contact with your institute's ICI YCN member!
