@bobbythesweeper@jenteach13 At that point it was just a little side gig while he was in school, but he was still making more than a first year teacher. Teaching salaries vary, as does the cost of living. I was just sharing our experience... take from it what you will.
@jenteach13 His company supports so much of our lifestyle and my teaching job takes care of the health insurance. Sad part is he would have been an amazing teacher! Thankfully, he coached our kids and I got to see it!
@jenteach13 Yes! Met my husband in college studying to become PE teachers. He was a basketball player and wanted to teach and coach HS. Already had a landscape co on the side... found out there was more school to make more money and it was still less than he was already making...

@fw_naetoblaq If I wake up in the middle of the night, the headphones go back in, I go back to almost the beginning of the podcast, and again, I'm right back to sleep. Have to be sure to put on a timer, otherwise I'll wake up confused because it'll be a completely different episode...
@fw_naetoblaq Dateline... I used to watch on TV, but it kept the husband awake. Now, I listen to it on a podcast with wired headphones on my Kindle. Keith Morrison has the calmest, most relaxing voice, which allows my brain to settle down and puts me right to sleep.
