#Breaking Meet Annie Lynch, the 79-year-old grandmother from Dublin who has just become the first person in Ireland to receive Covid-19 vaccine #COVID19#rtenews
As we were covering this story, my team & I were attacked by Israeli settlers. The back window of our vehicle was smashed, but we managed to escape unharmed.
This is just a sliver of the reality many Palestinians face in the West Bank amid rising settler violence.

REQUEST BY GARDAI TO HAND OVER IMAGES OF THE CROWN FACTORY RIOT LAST MONDAY.
For the second time this year we have had a request from gardai to had over images from disturbances related to anti migration riots. The first was in relation to the Dublin Riots last November, the second was in relation to the Crown Paint Factory riot las Monday. This was my reply:
Dear Darragh,
I am sorry for the delay in replying to you. I was away for the weekend.
I am surprised you are requesting this data from me (please see a copy of the statement issued below in response to a previous request
for data relating to the November Riots). I understood gardai now had access to body cams and were in a position to record breaches of the law by individuals without recourse to jeopardising the independence, objectivity and safety of professional visual journalists by requesting the handing over of digital imagery captured during serious disturbances.
As you may be aware, over the last few months journalists have been intimidated, threatened, harassed, verbally abused and had their
vehicles and registration numbers photographed by supporters of anti migrant groups. The request you are making, will if acceded to, only inflame matters further and put the safety of visual journalists in further peril. I find it odd that gardai are complaining of the level of danger their own members are in, and yet are prepared to put journalists' safety at risk by requesting that they become the eyes and ears of the State.
I am sure you will understand that like the Garda Commissioner, I also have a duty of care to those who work for me and cannot accede to a request that would endanger their personal safety. I would also ask you to consider the unintended consequences if I and other media platforms were to come to the decision that in order to protect our visual journalists from the consequences
of your request, the only solution is to cease covering the type of social disturbances we have witnessed at the Crown Paint factory over the last few weeks.
For the reasons above, I cannot accede to your request and I would hope in understanding why, you will not pursue the matter.

@simesa@EmmaSJacobs@BBCiPlayer@BBCNews Hi Simon, really interesting project. What was the advantage of using TVU over Live-U Smart. Is there anything you’d do differently for the next one?
Using Section 21 of the Public Order Act to prevent journalists from covering a policing operation at the Grand Canal bank, as reported on @morningireland seem inappropriate and over the top @GardaTraffic@NUJofficial

🚨#BREAKING: A Fox 7 News photojournalist has been thrown to the ground and arrested by police while covering a live broadcast during the protest at the University of Texas
📌#Austin | #Texas
Amidst the chaotic scenes that was unfolding earlier this evening at the University of Texas, where hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters clashed with police, a Fox 7 Austin News photojournalist who was covering a developing story live on broadcast from the state university campus was thrown to the ground and arrested by law enforcement in riot gear. Officers allege his camera struck an officer, though the photojournalist claims it was unintentional as crowds of protesters were pushing.
@Daily_Millenia @Caittrainor Did you do any due diligence before your post about lack of coverage. Type Clondalkin assault RTE into google, it’s the very first result. You could also watch back the 1, 6 or 9TV news from the day after the assault or listen back to any f the main radio bulletins.
@Daily_Millenia @Caittrainor Fact Check: it was covered extensively on RTÉ News across TV, Radio and Online the day after the assault happened. It was covered again when the man passed away.
.@WHO and partners managed to reach Al-Shifa — once the backbone of the health system in #Gaza, which is now an empty shell with human graves after the latest siege. The team witnessed at least five dead bodies during the mission.
Most of the buildings in the hospital complex are extensively destroyed and the majority of assets damaged or reduced to ashes. Even restoring minimal functionality in the short term seems implausible. An in-depth assessment by a team of engineers is needed to determine if the remaining buildings are safe for future use.
WHO and partners’ recent effort to support the revival of basic services at Al-Shifa are now lost, and people are once again deprived of access to lifesaving health care services.
As famine looms, disease outbreaks spread, and trauma injuries increase, WHO urges immediate:
- protection of remaining health facilities in Gaza
- protection of health and humanitarian workers
- additional land crossings to allow access into and across north Gaza
- functional deconfliction mechanism
- unimpeded access of humanitarian aid into and across the Gaza Strip
- ceasefire.
