Taoiseach Micheál Martin has asked Cork City Council to engage with the landowners of Bessborough to explore "all options" for the future of the former mother-and-baby home site

The Government does not have the power to "overturn" An Coimisiún Pleanála's decision to grant planning permission to build apartments on the site of the former Bessborough mother and baby homes site in Co Cork - John Connolly TD, Fianna Fáil. #TonightVMTV
where the State’s own Commission of Investigation found the burial places of hundreds of the 923 children (and 31 women) who died are unknown, and likely lie in unmarked graves.
Gregory is listed as a director
… is he fully aware of the situation? #Bessborough
Another shameful chapter
As someone who was born in a Mother and Baby Home I find it despicable that the government hasnt stated its intentions to stop the private-for-profit driven developer building on a site where the Mother & BH Commission said there are likely burials and where 19 mothers & 859 infants remain missing @RBoydBarrett

@ArchbishopEamon@ArchbishopEamon you also said “we” (as in your church and the Irish people) need to decide in “our” values together, to decide what do we stand for… The State has approved it, while people oppose it… so what do you stand for?
@ArchbishopEamon you said at the end of last year that you strongly believe that “Ireland needs to regain its soul”… would the building of the apartments not bury the Irish soul even deeper?…
Is sinn féin an rud nach dtugaimid aghaidh air,
Ach toicfaidh an fhírinne chun léir.
How our relevance is expressed;
Weighed against time digressed.
Ní fhágann an tost ach an glór níos géire.
An chapall.
Croí is fiú gach teampall.
The friend who carried us through it,
Creator of a world that outgrew it.
Fós anseo, mar chomhnóir don cheangal.
Ag suí timpeall na tine mar fhoghlaimeoirí,
Freagraíonn an talamh do chroí an fheirmeorí,
Fairy dust; indigenous micro organism,
A new way of nature activism,
Ar imeall an chiorcail cloch lena chaomhnóirí.
The former International Rugby Experience in Limerick, which closed in 2024, is set to become a “women’s museum”.
The building will become a new branch of the National Museum of Ireland and “host an exhibition telling the stories of women in Ireland”.

National media now question the Directly Elected Mayor of Limerick role, & John Moran calling it hostile.
Perhaps it’s a mediator role between public & council; allowing the public to witness & the councillors to do.
Holding space for both, without being a target for either.
I light of the conversations taking place with John Moran, Directly Elected Mayor of Limerick, I am against the idea of scrapping the position at this time. It took years to put together, and granted it’s tough the first time, but there is loads to learn.
@KCharlestonSC@Renmakesmusic I want to live stream all public accounts and live stream all communication relates to the accounts so we can see what’s going on with the money, and get involved together with a system that self regulates, i’m calling it transduauelism.
@MrPeachUK@Renmakesmusic What if being emotional and critical at the same time is the password, as in the password is usual something easy to remember (insert emotional reasoning), and it is critical. Password is the lightning moment; lightning has an expression and emotion, and strikes are critical.
