Today I met with National Telecommunications and Information Administration Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary Tricia Paoletta and the State Department’s Deputy Assistant Secretary for Cyberspace and Digital Policy John Mills.

Mills is leading the U.S. delegation to the International Telecommunication Union World Telecommunication Policy Forum in Nassau this week. Read the whole thing. Then notice what is not in it.

The top civilian above every four-star admiral, Acting SECNAV @HungCao_VA, is the son of a man who earned a Ph.D. at Cornell, ran agriculture policy for our military in Saigon and supported our military as assistant to the deputy prime minister, and got his family out as the city fell.

Did he get citizenship for helping the military?

NO, the Democrats new favorite organization USAID, sent then to Niger.

Hung spent ages five to twelve in the Sahel because his refugee father went to work for the United States government.

Zero mention. Not one line.

I know Hung personally. I will guarantee, in writing, that if the Times had picked up a phone he would have called ICE himself. The man is constitutionally incapable of leaving a sailor’s family twisting in the wind.

I know because we met repeatedly when he was Under Secretary and it is practically all he talked about.

Same with the USS Lincoln “food shortages” that went viral last week. He brought me in multiple times LAST YEAR because I am the ship logistics guy. Getting food and fuel to the fleet was his number two priority. Number one was helping military families.

Here is the part the Times cannot process: the Navy is not omniscient.

Neither is ICE. Nearly a million people move through this system.

Mistakes F’n happen.

And this one was not even a mistake. The father was here illegally. He broke the law. That is not in dispute.

Helping any illegal alien is not a popularity move with the Republican base, and yet I’m confident Hung Cao would have done it anyway. That is your story. You had it in your hands and you did not want it.

Instead of helping this family you made this political. Now Hung Cao will have to fight everyone in the administration who doesn’t want a single illegal immigrant to remain.

You know what sentence is missing from this article? “Secretary Cao could not be reached for comment.”

You did not even try to leave a message on the voice mail of the one man on earth most likely to land on your side of this.

You also failed to mention that Trump handed the Department of the Navy to a refugee.

Tomorrow, my father, Pastor Son Hyun-bo of Segero Church, South Korea, faces the final hearing of his appellate trial.

Closing arguments and the prosecutor’s sentencing recommendation come down at 4:30 PM KST (3:30 AM ET / 12:30 AM PT).

In the first trial, he was convicted under Article 85(3) of Korea’s Public Official Election Act — a law twisted to criminalize a sermon preached from his own pulpit, on the theory that a pastor’s “influence” over his own congregation counts as illegal campaigning.
The judge who handed down that verdict has shown exactly whose interests he serves under Korea’s current leftist government.

My father appealed immediately. The prosecution appealed too, not because he was found innocent, but because they think the sentence wasn’t harsh enough. That tells you the scale of the pressure behind this case.

This is what religious persecution looks like in a country that still calls itself a democracy: a pastor punished for preaching, and prosecutors pushing for more.
