Our Eyes Are Our Ears - 21st Century Growing Pains

When was the last time you consciously stood guard at the door of your mind?

It's simple and appropriate to understand this as defending against evil thoughts, but should we also defend ourselves against so-called "good thoughts?"

The 21st century has tasked the human mind with something that has never been done before: processing the trauma of the entire world. Never has a population been so visually and aurally informed as to the destitute state of the world.

The 24-hour news cycle was the previous high-water mark before pocket grimoires completely took over as chief torturer of the mind. If you keep the people's eyes "glued to the screen" (a nightmarish metaphor), then the news station sees profit.

What we have today is magnitudes more nightmarish than eyes glued to a CRT-TV. The trauma news of the world was not meant to be taken on by each individual person. Instead of the "the world" only being something external to you, the world now exists inside the hearts and minds of each person who dwells on its trauma with their eyes and ears.

It gets worse.

Not just one world (the fallen world) exists inside the hearts and minds of those who dwell on its tragedies, but MANY worlds now exist inside you, bogging your soul down. You put yourselves in the shoes of people that you never should have had the imagination to do so. The modern leftist gets destroyed by this. They must tend to and water each and every ecosystem within themselves perfectly or else their soul golem gets smashed by somebody with more knowledge of tragedy than them.

What kind of person does this machine create?

A person utterly untethered. A person who is unable to truly care about the world because their opinions of the grand scheme have become so nebulous and grey.

A person who is not able to form empathy for their direct surroundings, the microcosm that is their community, because they are bombarded with so much trauma.

Without a foundation in God's wisdom through Jesus Christ, the person does not stand a chance in today's world. There should be only God's perfect world. Unknowingly, we allow the creation of many.

The way they describe how to have a "good" experience is similar to how somebody would describe a possession.
