The #drought this year was especially bad for our edible and noneduble plants. We lost a shrub that had been on our property for over 25 years. It was one of the bird havens. #ClimateActionNow
Do you know what this is? Noooo, it's not animal scat. It's a #truffle, apparently a delectable edible fungus. (I guess I will never know.)

It's hotter every year so we cannot be #sustainable & wear our clothes 2x before washing.
Then, retailers are selling less laundry detergent for the same price. 170 oz @$16 vs 208 oz @ $16 = 18.3% loss #shrinkflation
Since October, we started buying detergent in a paper box.
Tired of #fossilfuels burning up our atmosphere? Me too. I ended my years-long relationships with leaf blowers and started raking by hand. It's great physical #exercise with ZERO #carbon#emissions (well except for my own huffing and puffing). These leaves will be soil soon.
To reduce water & energy use, we only wash dishes 1x per day, by hand. To eliminate plastic bottles, we searched for and found a dish detergent replacement. A refill packaged in paper, except for that plastic cap that really isn't necessary.

#FirePreventionWeek was a month ago but it's always a good time to protect your family at home. Replace batteries immediately and in this case, replace a defective device. Adding CO detection provides additional protection.

I woke up this morning with the thought that there is #plastic is my body. In the #UnitedStates we are also responsible for #ocean#pollution because we consume food and items packaged in #plastic. Growing our own vegetables is another way we have eliminated some of it.
