My Conversations with Alice
27th May – 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
£6.00 – £7.50
Alice Milligan (1866-1953) was the most significant writer-activist of the Irish Cultural Revival. A northern Protestant, born in Omagh, her contribution to Irish cultural life is enormous, but largely forgotten.
In this event, poet Maria McManus discusses her ongoing archival research around Alice Milligan, exploring Alice’s relationship with Ireland, and uses her life and work as inspiration for a series of poems, letters and conversations to explore her own contemporary Irish and Northern Irish culture and society.
