Really proud of a lot good work done this past Legislative session.

But as I've said before I hate to be the skunk at the tea party.

So let me be frank.

Some battles were saved for next year.

One of those is the passenger rail debate.

While we have a national administration championing passenger rail we have a Maine DOT that this year essentially told Mainers north of Brunswick to take a Bus.

I'm serious.

Apparently we can subsidize the Downeaster for southern Maine to be connected to Boston but we can't connect Lewiston and Bangor to the rest of the State.

I was fortunate to have my passenger rail bill carried over but southern Maine liberals have essentially united with conservative Republicans to block passenger rail for Bangor and Lewiston.

My voice, regardless of the cynical opponents, will continue to be loud and clear.

And I will not let this debate end without a fight and a calling out of the money we spend now to subsidize wealthier people in southern Maine to commute to NH but we deny the same opportunities to the other half of Maine.
