@JoshPateCFB long time listener of the show from Florida. First time visit to a @QuikTrip on my way through Nashville for the holidays. Did not disappoint! Love the show! #CommisonerPate
What is the best resource to stay on top of @TroyTrojansFB recruiting? Who's being targeted( hs & portal), whos commited verbally, ect. Id love to know how we ended up so low in SBC recruiting ranks. Are we losing out on guys or are we just not targeting higher prospects?
@SSN_Troy@troyboyzpodcast@TroyTrojansFB anyone have the latest on players who are considering transfering out or opting out of the bowl game now that Sumrall is gone??
@JonSumrallStan Its very bitter sweet. He always talked like him and his family really wanted to be in Troy for a while. And the school he leaves for is so equal to Troy from an on the field product standpoint. We all knew he was on barrowed time but wanted tp see him move up, not over.
@Jseegz425@Ben_Stanfield Troy is a top 5 G5 football program right alongside Tulane these last couple of seasons, regardless of the coach's salary so hopping from a G5 to another G5 when he was clearly getting on some P5 radars seems like a lateral move.
@Jseegz425@Ben_Stanfield I said this in a similar thread earlier. Tulane has $, but its a lateral/detramental move career wise. He goes 10-2 at Troy one more year, he's a lock for a P5 job somewhere next year. Hes going to have to re-prove him self at Tulane for 2/3 yrs before he gets the same chance.
@CoachJonSumrall Troy Nation knows you're going to do great things. Much better things than Tulane. Lets run it back again next year foro one more championship before you head off to the P5 job you deserve.
@Trojan_Takes Serious question: If Troy hires an older coach in their twighlight yrs with a solid history, assume they stick around 6/7yrs, but cant win consistantly in this new era, is that preferable to an up and comer that will be stolen from us in 2 yrs if he shows even an bit of success?
@JBWAVE7 @CleverCornflake @brentjones4 I realize Tulane has more $ to throw around but the green ripples are still G5. Sumrall was allegedly a candidate for 2 P5 jobs this cycle. One more good yr at Troy and he'd be a lock next cycle to the P5. He'll have to prove himself again for 2-3 yrs in NOLA for the same chance
@Trojan_Takes This whole series of coach moves is weird. Fritz and Sumrall both would have much higher potential if they wait one more year. Tulane to Houston and Troy to Tulane all feel like very lateral moves for both guys, which makes it all worse somehow.
The fact these clowns, Rece included, didnโt even mention us whenever they all know we have the best opponent ranking by a wide margin over the other two, is dumb as hell.
People donโt like it but BCS was a much better era than ass wipes like boo parading around a committee of idiots.
