Brandon Holtz (Illinois State 2005–‘09) gave up basketball for golf, then stepped away from the game entirely to build a real estate career and focus on family.
He came back in 2023… and won the U.S. Mid-Amateur last September.
Now, after 20 years of attending Augusta as a fan, he’s teeing it up this weekend ⛳️

Illinois State is believed to be the first school ever to qualify for the Semifinals in a D1 postseason tournament in Football, MBB, and WBB in the same academic year. They lost an overtime heartbreaker in the FCS Final, and are headed to the NIT Semifinal and WNIT Fab Four.

Jack Hughes: “They got busy schedules too. Everyone’s giving us backlash for all that social media stuff today, but it’s so negative. People are so negative out there, and they’re trying to find a reason to put people down and make something out of almost nothing.”
