A fantastic end to the Ecuador ringing expedition at #RanchoTangaré resulting in a total of 352 birds ringed of 93 species! A brilliant start to the establishment of a permanent bird ringing station at the site. A big thank you to the ringers and support personnel involved!
A great finish to the month at the #AshdownForest site today with a total of 62 birds - mostly lesser redpolls but also two Firecrests and some lovely looking Goldfinches!
Another decent morning of 30+ birds at the #AshdownForest site on Thursday! Big flock of Redwing about of which 9 were caught and another two Dartford Warblers! Of course forgot to take any photos 😶.
Chilly morning at the #AshdownForest site today, 20+ birds ringed. Still a few chiffs and blackcaps about but this Meadow Pipit was a first for the site! Somehow they eluded capture in 2023 🤔.
Incredible morning at the #AshdownForest site on Sunday with 121 birds caught! Best day numbers wise yet! In no part thanks to 87 House Martin's who decided to be agreeable for once!
Another enjoyable morning at the #AshdownForest ringing site! 31 birds ringed mostly Chiffchafffs, Goldcrests and Coal Tits, but this Nuthatch made an appearance only the 2nd one ringed here.
A very sunny morning at the #AshdownForest ringing site! 28 with highlights of Sedge Warbler, Garden Warbler, Dartford Warbler and a handful of Swallows!
Let down by the wind forecast yesterday morning so birds were on the sparse side, but still managed a Swallow and Grasshopper Warbler making two new species for the #AshdownForest site!
A whopping 76 birds ringed today at the #AshdownForest Site! Mostly Chiffchaff and Goldcrests. But with nice handfull of Tree pipits and Stonechats to mix it up! Not bad for just me and 4 nets!
Another very quiet session at the #AshdownForest site yesterday morning with only 5 new birds caught! At least the Tree Pipit made up for the disappointing numbers!
