We stand with Data Scientist, Rebekah Jones, and all tech workers in Florida who choose to put ethics and the interest of the people first.
We encourage you to look at her story.

One day I'll write about the "tech savior complex" and why more VCs, Startups, and more Z isn't the solution for everything including fixing government. One day.
And finally, in case your mysteriously murderous grocery store assailant is more realistically armed with say a banana, please consult Monty Python. Their research seems thorough although I haven't had a chance to replicate it yet.
I ran a test in my dream last night and think this should work IRL. If someone attacks you with throwing knives or stars in a grocery store then you should charge at them with an empty grocery cart.
Disclaimer: I haven't tested this method against throwing axes. It's probably safe in a world with high resolution collision detection. Otherwise, they may be able to get a full backswing through the cart and then start hacking their way through it.
@klarabinon @rothgar@buckmelter I like to say, when you're new, you're an expert in what it's like to be new, which means you get to call out everything not easily discoverable or reliable in the docs and everyone else has to fix it immediately because this is the only expertise we lose over time.
A new part-time opportunity from @codeforphilly will pay 3 technical fellows a $1,500 stipend for 10 hours of work over 8 weeks. Here are the details: https://t.co/inG9QP5AWO
@LenyHRWagner @Unmagical_Girl @mcdrawsincafes @AlishaRai Lol - yeah - there's even a parenthetical: "(and disproportionately Episcopalian)" in the Wikipedia page! https://t.co/Z2FjfTnnBF
@RayNaCorp @charityanas @LegalStacey Right back at ya! Thanks for sharing your insight and experience and all the thoughtfulness you're putting into privilege, motivation, and results.
I'm also very open to ditching this project and helping with others that are further along with the same goals, so please don't hesitate to mention any alternatives you know of (regardless of whether you've had a chance to check them out)!
I'm no expert, but I just renamed the main branch for my current project from "master" to "main". What I did:
$ git branch -m master main
$ git push origin main
adjust github as below
$ git push origin :master
Then on other copies:
$ git checkout main
$ git branch -d master
@tyrekshepard I don't have experience on either side of a procurement department, but I can relate to switching departments (analytics to engineering) and being like, "oh, now I understand - I'm sorry" (both ways).
