I found a guy who goes around the US asking 70 to 100-year-olds their:
• Biggest Regrets
• Biggest Lessons
• Advice to their younger self
Oddly enough, most of their answers are the same…
Here are my top 8:
@elonmusk Trump's mercantilist trade policies caused the pandemic. The ineffective management of the inflation issue was Biden sleeping at the wheel. Trump has shown no signs of learning from his mistake. I guess we'll have to take our chances with Harris.
@elonmusk Tax cuts could have worked if there was no pandemic. It dampened the economic landscape, and corporations, instead of taking the cuts and forging into the economy, got defensive and pulled back. Therefore, the pandemic's delayed impact is the root of all our problems today.
@elonmusk Two factors were instrumental. One was the significant corporate tax cuts under Trump that forced the government to issue treasury bonds to make up the difference. Second was the pandemic that slashed aggregate demand in the economy and required government to intervene.
@SlatePodcasts@marysdesk I asked some questions regarding this article from ChatGPT and got some interesting answers (ignore the first few exchanges):

@billmaher Steaming platforms are way underpriced for what they provide. As is, the price should go up when there is no advertising. Call it "luxury streaming," if you will. Then add TARGETTED advertising and keep the same prices as now. On HULU, I have useless advertising on my content.
@Stanovaya Isn't Wagner Putin's private army, his insurance policy that the regular army to not rebel against him and throw him out of power? With Wagner gone, what stands between Putin's neck and the Russian elite using the army to push him out of power? Putin is just a gigantic liability.
@JoeBiden I listened to the Spaces broadcast, and De Santis does come on very strong but needs staying power. That could be developed during the campaign, but as is, he won't be able to go the distance.
@Gerashchenko_en Russia couldn't defend its outstretched line to Kyiv and was facing total decimation if it did not retreat. It also needed more firepower to push into Kyiv. The assumption was that Ukraine was going to collapse within weeks of the invasion, but that proved to be a fatal error.
@kklassy14@business Nikki Haley, Ron DeDantis, Chris Christie, Chris Sununu, and Mike Pompeo are on deck to possibly be president in 2024. Given this field, Trump is not the best choice for the highest office in the land. Please consider the other candidates who are eminently more qualified.
@kklassy14@business That is a separate matter which will follow its course accordingly and perhaps to even to Biden's detriment. On this matter, Trump is trapped by his own unscrupulousness. I believe he may have underestimated the steep learning curve of embracing politics as a businessman.
“ they could not have imagined their grandson would one day be on the cusp of being the next first minister of Scotland. From the Punjab to our parliament, this is a journey over generations that reminds us that we should celebrate migrants who contribute so much to our country.”
@juliaioffe As an Iranian-American, I understand the propensity of those who have never known democracy to choose totalitarianism. I think it is more of a matter of believing in the efficacy of hierarchism in favor of the messiness of the democratic process.
"... population size is not the primary driver of exceeding planetary boundaries like climate change. Instead, it appears that the extremely high material footprint levels being produced by the world’s richest 10 percent are far more responsible for destabilizing our planet."
