🔹 “In the digital era, as technology becomes an integral part of our daily lives, the role of the Commission is critically important. Our goal is to support business development, market openness, competition, and the adoption of new technologies. Every project and decision made by the Commission will прежде all serve the interests and needs of the state and society,” said ComCom’s newly elected Chair, Goga Gulordava, at a Commission meeting.
Addressing broadcasting issues, he added: “Freedom of speech and expression is guaranteed in the country, and the Commission will firmly protect it. At the same time, we must do everything possible to safeguard viewers’ best interests and ensure that the media environment is as free as possible from disinformation.”
🔹 On January 29, 2026, members of the Communications Commission elected Goga Gulordava as Chairman of the Commission for a three-year term.
In line with legislation, the election was held by secret ballot, with the full composition of the Commission unanimously supporting his candidacy.
Goga Gulordava brings 26 years of professional experience. He is a lawyer by profession and has enhanced his qualifications in the United States and Germany.
🌐 A representative of ComCom participated in the 74th meeting of the Executive Council of the @EuAvObservatory (EAO), dedicated to approving the EAO’s Action Plan and Budget for 2026. During the meeting, EAO representatives reviewed the organization’s ongoing activities and key priority areas.
🌐 Representatives of ComCom participated in the 62nd meeting of the European Platform of Regulatory Authorities (EPRA), hosted by the Television and Radio Commission of Armenia (CTR). The meeting focused on protecting, promoting, and developing media pluralism in the digital age, as well as on designing and implementing strategies that regulators need in a rapidly evolving environment.
🔹 Within the framework of the event, ComCom representatives discussed opportunities for bilateral cooperation with their counterparts from the regulatory authorities of the United Kingdom, Ireland, Lithuania, Italy, North Macedonia, Bulgaria, and Spain.
🌐 A representative of the Communications Commission participated in the inaugural meeting of the Global Network for AI Supervisory Authorities.
✅ As part of the visit, the representative also attended a roundtable discussion focused on strengthening the capacities of institutions responsible for AI governance. The meeting addressed key challenges and strategies for the effective supervision and regulation of AI systems, as well as the tools and mechanisms needed by regulatory authorities for AI oversight.
🌐 Mzia Gogilashvili, representative of ComCom’s International Relations Department, participated in the ITU-EKIP Regional Regulatory Forum for Europe 2025, organized by the International Telecommunication Union (@ITU) Europe Office and Montenegro’s Agency for Electronic Communications and Postal Services (EKIP).
✅ During the session dedicated to public warning systems, mobile broadcasting, and digital alert mechanisms, ComCom’s representative spoke on behalf of @eaperegeu, presenting to participants the planned activities in this field across partner countries — Azerbaijan, Moldova, Georgia, Armenia, and Ukraine.
🌐 Representatives of ComCom held a working meeting with members of France’s regulatory authority (@Arcom_fr) within the framework of the UNESCO and CLEMI conference “To Educate or to Ban: Breaking the Impasse.” The meeting focused on sharing experiences in shaping media literacy policies and developing educational projects.
As part of the visit, ComCom representatives also met with the Head of UNESCO’s Media and Information Literacy and Digital Competencies Section, as well as the Program Manager of the UNESCO Media Literacy Alliance.
🌐 At the 12th Annual #BRAF Meeting, ComCom representatives presented the progress achieved in the fields of content regulation and promotion of media literacy.
The central theme of the event focused on hate speech and freedom of information in audiovisual media and online platforms.
Mr. Anil Kumar Lahoti, Chairman, #TRAI, met Ms. Ekaterine Imedadze, Commissioner, Georgian National Communications Commission & other dignitaries for a bilateral meeting at #GSR25 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
They discussed infrastructure sharing, quality of service & spam control.
🌐 @EkaImedadze, member of the @comcomge, and Mzia Gogilashvili from the International Relations Department, participated in the 25th Global Symposium for Regulators (GSR-25). Within the framework of the symposium, they held bilateral meetings with heads of fellow regulatory authorities. The event was organized by the International Telecommunication Union (@ITU) together with Saudi Arabia’s Communications, Space & Technology Commission (@CST_KSA).
