Mushoku Tensei is consistently great or better, huh? I wasn't expecting a sort of slice of life isekai, but I enjoyed what I've watched so far regardless. It probably has the most "relatable" fantasy characters, though that sometimes makes them less "interesting".
DanMachi is actually so good; WTF? I wasn't expecting a serious and genuinely interesting story based on the name, haha. I'll admit, I cried like four times. That Wiene death scene especially got me. I really thought they were going to permanently kill her. (1)
I was actually happy they didn't. She's too precious. The characters are great, with Ryu probably being the best. She's a fantastic depiction of survivor's guilt. Hestia is my favourite, though. There are also many cool fights with great animation. (2)
Yu getting shot multiple times with a crossbow is stupid, though, haha. It's also strange that he suddenly doesn't want to use time-leap or heal his eye, THEN plunder abilities.
Why do some people think Charlotte has a bad ending??? I think it has a borderline great ending that follows the theme of abilities being a disease/cause of many problems, with Yu removing everyone's abilities. It's another twist to conclude one of the most interesting plots.
Seraph of the End has an interesting world that I wish had slightly more building. I like the supernatural mixed with a dystopian urban setting. The characters are actually quite interesting, with Yuuichiro especially having great development. His change of goal was nice to see.
Since I seemingly just post about anime here, I might as well mention that I quite enjoyed watching The Asterisk War, and think it's pretty cool and interesting. I like the blend of fantasy and sci-fi powers, and the characters are good. Kirin Toudou is best girl, IDC.
Fire Force has some interesting characters, but more-so has an interesting and unique world and plot. It's also a fascinating commentary on religion and psychology. What a great prequel. Shoutouts to Arthur, BTW. He's GOATed.
Rave Master predictably has a similar vibe to Fairy Tail, which I like. Like Fairy Tail, it took a few arcs to really captivate me, but it gets more cool and interesting. The background music is also great thanks to Kenji Kawai. Unfortunately, it's another incomplete anime...
Dang, Magi is super cool and interesting, as well as sometimes downright excellent. Supporting characters like Titus and Mogamett are actually the best characters, and Sinbad is simply one of the GOATs. It's unfortunate the anime doesn't have a proper ending...
Fate/Stay Night's music is so beautiful, man. Combined with the illustration style and story, it's easily the most atmospheric, tragic, and beautiful anime I've watched. No other series has made me cry this much. Thanks to everyone that worked on it.
Man, after watching some Fate spinoff stories, I wasn't expecting Fate/Apocrypha to be as excellent as it is and a return to form. Almost every main and supporting character has a solid backstory and motivation. Sieg and Jeanne are especially complex and interesting. (1)
